Konklusion

Bundle - 3

Software - 2
Softwaren mangler virkelig at blive gjort færdig.

UK summary

My Cloud Home disappointed a bit with its transfer speeds for small files, while doing well for large files. This is acceptable unless you have to transfer your family's digital photo album for the last 10 years to My Cloud Home. The synchronization feature is smart and works excellent, but in use it is a little slow to transfer, so patience is needed. At first glance, the software bundle seems big, but mostly it appears to be just advertising of other products from other manufacturers, while Western Digital apps do not even support My Cloud Home. Why then include them? Havenissen is confused. The webpage works fine, but you actually only use it to create new users. All I miss is the ability to create publicly available folders and the possibility of not being forced to use WD Discovery to access your drive. It seems that Western Digital has thought everything correctly, but they just did not execute their ideas correctly.

Innovation/Technology - 4
Viewed from a family's point of view, My Cloud Home delivers an easy and quick setup of shared and private drives for the entire family under the same roof. The innovation lies in the fact that there is an alternative method of connecting the entire family, which is not normally found in other NAS. I give 4 because they have cut the problem into the bone.

Bundle/Accessories - 3
There is everything that is needed to get started. As said, there was no LAN cable included in the test example, but Western Digital writes that there should be one included.

Design/Layout - 4
The number of ports is fine and they are well placed. It might have been an idea with a USB plug in front, as it would be easier to access than the back. The materials and assembly quality seem to be in top.

Software - 2
The software really needs to be finished. It seems that they have thought that now they have something that works and sent it off to production, but they have not tested it properly.

Performance - 3
The transfer rate disappoints me for small files, but acceptable for larger files. The web interface works fast and user-friendly.

Price - 4
The price makes sense if you consider that a WD Red 6 TB costs about 1470 kr, while the price for My Cloud Home is 1829 kr. So for about 350 kr you get your hard drive on the network.
