Gigabyte har virkelig fået designet en voldsom VRM til dette bundkort. Det har fået hele 16 strømfaser og tantalum kondensatorer der er meget bedre end de efterhånden traditionelle solid state kondensatorer vi ser alle steder efterhånden. Gigabyte har brugt disse tantalum kondensatorer rigtig mange steder, og ikke kun til CPU's vcore men også til RAM VRM.

 

VRM heatsink er også blevet godt designet med en heatpipe der røre direkte ved Power Stage, og selve heatpipe er en stor 8mm.

 

For at få en bedre kabelføring har alle stik på bundkortet fået en 90 graders rotering.

 

Bundkortet har fået et ekstra PCB lag for at kunne afskærme RAM delen fra resten af bundkortet. Dette hjælper med højere RAM hastigheder.

 

Med Z490 chipsettet er der understøttelse for PCIe 4.0, men CPU'erne understøtter ikke denne funktion endnu. Det betyder at disse bundkort er klar til den næste generation af CPU'er der vil understøtte PCIe 4.0. Derudover har bundkortet her fået en PCIe clock generator, således at PCIe bussen kan overclockes.

 

Gigabyte har inkluderet en 10GbE Aquantia LAN chip, hvilket betyder 10 gange så hurtig LAN, hvis din switch eller router understøtter dette.

 

Bundkortet har også fået en Thunderbolt 3 port der understøtter op til 40Gb/s båndbredde.

 

Integreret i bundkortet får man også den nye WiFi 6 standard med medfølgende solide WiFi antenner.

 

På bundkortet får man to RGB LED og addreserbar RGB stik der kan synkroniseres med resten af bundkortets RGB LED.

 

Bundkortet har fået 2 8-pin CPU strømstik, hvor der er brugt solide pins der gør at stikket nu kan holde til lidt over 400W istedet for de normale 384W.
