Test: Streacom DA2 V2 Mini ITX kabinet

Konklusion

Streacom har fået opdateret deres DA2 til version 2 og de har heldigvis holdt kabinettet i det samme flotte og lækre design. De har fået lavet nogle flere huller i siden og bagpå for bedre airflow, og jeg syntes faktisk de nye hul størrelser er pænere end de gamle. De bruger stadig deres beslag til montering af hardwaren som er meget modulær og man kan montere tingene på mange måder, og man behøver jo ikke lave en pc i kabinettet. Man kan også lave det om til en NAS hvis man har lyst til det.

Pladsen er stadig lidt trang inde i kabinettet, så at bruge en standard ATX strømforsying er en skidt ide. Jeg ville bestemt også anbefale at man vælger et bundkort som understøtter M.2 drev, så man slipper for ekstra kabel til en SSD eller en HDD. Grafikkortmæssigt er der kun plads til et kort der fylder 2 slots, det er dog muligt med en Vertikalt GPU pakke at gøre så man kan sætte et 3 slots grafikkort ind. Det er fedt at se at Streacom har tænkt at det skal være lidt nemmere at montere en blæser i kabinettet, og derfor har smidt de 4 silicone mounts med til dette, at man kan sænke strømforsyningen til at montere en blæser over den ser jeg dog som lidt underligt da den jo suger frisk luft ind fra siden og blæser det direkte ud af kabinettet igen, uden der er noget i vejen for den.

Laver man ekstra spacere til montering af for eksempel en strømforsynig, skal man også sørge for at der er skruer med der passer til dette, det giver ingen mening de 4 skruer ikke er med i posen. Og så er der de dårlige skruer som sad monteret i selve kabinettet fra fabrikken af, det kan ikke passe at de er gået igennem kvalitets kontrollen og ud til forbrugeren. De var næsten ikke til at få ud og det var svært at skrue andre i igen, det går bare ikke i et produkt til næsten 2000,-

Jeg vil dog sige at køber man dette kabinet så får man et lækkert lille aluminiums kabinet som virkelig er fedt at have stående fremme. Har man det rigtige hardware så kan man bygge en stærk maskine i en lille lækker indpakning. Det er ikke et kabinet til første gangs byggeren men klart henvendt til den mere erfarne bygger.

Streacoms modulær montering er stadig fed og giver mange muligheder for at installere sin hardware. 4 skal det have.

Godt at se de har smidt lidt ekstra i kassen, dog ærgeligt at kvaliteten af nogle af delene halter. Jeg lader det komme dem til gode og giver dem 4 i håbet om det er en svipser.

Design/Layout - 5
DA2 V2 er stadig i min optik et af de flotteste kabinetter man kan købe. Det minimalistiske design i aluminium gør at det bare holder og det holder helt til en 5'er.

Pris - 3
Det er ikke et billig kabinet. Jeg har fundet det til lige knapt 1900,- og det er en mindre prisstigning i forhold til det gamle DA2, men vil man have design så koster det.

Streacom has updated their DA2 to version 2 and they have fortunately kept the cabinet in the same beautiful and delicious design. They've had some more holes made in the side and back for better airflow, and I actually thought the new hole sizes are nicer than the old ones. They still use their fittings to mount the hardware which is very modular and you can mount things in many ways, and you don't have to make a PC in the cabinet. You can also turn it into a NAS if you want to.

The space is still a little cramped inside the enclosure, so using a standard ATX power stitching is a bad idea. I would certainly also recommend choosing a motherboard that supports M.2 drives, so you don't have extra cable for an SSD or a HDD. Graphics card-wise, there is only room for a card that fills 2 slots, however it is possible with a Vertical GPU package to do so you can insert a 3 slots graphics card. It is cool to see that Streacom has thought that it should be a little easier to mount a fan in the cabinet, and therefore has thrown the 4 silicone mounts with to this, that you can lower the power supply to mount a fan over it. I think however as a little strange as it sucks fresh air in from the side and blows it directly out of the cabinet again, without there being anything in the way of it.

If you make extra spacers for mounting, for example, a power supplied, you also need to make sure that there are screws that fit this, it makes no sense the 4 screws are not in the bag. And then there are the bad screws that sat mounted in the cabinet itself from the factory, it can't be true that they've gone through quality checks and out to the consumer. They were almost nowhere to get out and it was hard to screw others in again, it just doesn't go into a product for nearly 2000,- DKK

I would say, however, that if you buy this cabinet, you get a nice little aluminium cabinet which is really cool to have standing up front. If you have the right hardware, you can build a strong machine in a small, delicious packaging. It is not a cabinet for the first-time builder but clearly addressed to the more experienced builder.

Streacom's modular mounting is still bold and offers many options to install its hardware. 4 it must have.

Good to see they have thrown a little extra in the box. However it´s a shame that the quality of some the components is to poor. But I will let them have the benefit of doubt, and give them four in the hope it's a flicker.

Design/Layout - 5
The DA2 V2 is still one of the nicest cabinets you can buy. The minimalist aluminium design makes it just last and it lasts all the way to a 5.

Price - 3
It's not a cheap cabinet. I've found it for just barely 1900 DKK and it's a small price increase compared to the old DA2, but if you want design then it costs.
