MSI(tm) Launches a New Dual CPU Mainboard with SCSI On Board
694D Master-S

Eindhoven, 8 January 2001

Dual processor high-end mainboards are the most attractive platform
solutions preferred by power users. In response to market demands of newer
technology and features, MSITM is launching a transcendental dual
processor enabled product equipped with high-speed Adaptec Ultra 160 SCSI
controller: the 694D Master-S.

Compared to other dual processor support mainboards based on VIA®694X
chipset, MSI's 694D Master-S has the unique feature of onboard SCSI
controller. This feature increases system data transfer speed and
optimizes system functions. The benefit for the power users is the
integrated feature on board and the release of an expansion slot for other
uses, plus increasing system overall performance especially under
multi-tasking environment.

Besides these, MSI 694D Master-S applies dual Socket 370 architecture and
ATX form factor. The platform supports Intel® Pentium® III (FC-PGA)
processors up to 1GHz. The configuration is composed of one AGP Pro slot,
one CNR slot, and four DIMM memory slots supporting up to 2GB of SDRAM
memory. The mainboard is also equipped with five PCI slots, suitable for
server and high-end workstation applications.

The 694D Master-S high-end dual processor mainboard also brings the
following features:

* D-LED(tm) Hardware Debug Device
* A combination of 4 LED light signals to represent 16 different
troubleshooting functions during boot up, so that the user can easily find
the cause of any possible failure.

* PC Alert(tm) III System Monitoring Software tool
* The intelligent tool monitors the temperature, voltage, system fan
speed, hard drive status and memory status of the system. User is alerted
at any abnormal situation, preventing the component damage due to abnormal
usage.

* Integrated SCSI Controller
* This mainboard is integrated with a discrete Adaptec Ultra 160 SCSI
controller, enabling outstanding multi-tasking and I/O performance,
providing extraordinary 3D animation and video processing capabilities.

* 4 DIMM Slots
* The four DIMM memory slot design supports up to 2GB SDRAM memory,
providing enough capacity for memory expansion

* 4 USB Ports
The 694D Master-S mainboard is equipped with 4 USB ports providing the
widest flexibility of connecting different peripheral devices.
