Amdmb.com has posted a great article on the newly released Athlon XP 1800+ processor from AMD. This article goes deeper into the reasonings behind the marketing, the changes in technology and what they mean to performance for end uers as well as the motherboard compatibility issue that is of big concern. I think you will find that AMD has a real winner on their hands with the Palomino enhanced desktop processor finally being available to masses.

"The performance of the Athlon XP processor can?t be denied when looking at the benchmarks. It is consistently a good 10-15% higher in most tests thanks to both the inclusion of the Palomino core and the increased frequency.
