PC Hardware reviewed the first 4 layer motherboard for Pentium 4, MSI 850 Pro2. The editor tested it with a 1.8Ghz Pentium 4 and overclocked it to over 2Ghz. Although most Pentium 4 motherboards aren't known to offer user friendly overclocking, the MSI 850 Pro2 features hardware-free installation and BIOS CPU tweaks. The stability is also exceptional due to shorter traces imposed by the four layer design.
Take a quote:
"A surprising thing at this motherboard is the RIMM slot which is parallel to the AGP slot. MSI had to use this design to reduce the number of layers. I don't take this as a disadvantage, but the design may seem strange to many people."
