As early as August 2001, there were rumours that Handspring would be launching two new PDAs, codenamed Ace and Columbia. Columbia drew the most excitement because it was thought it would have a 16MB RAM, a first for a Palm OS based PDA. In Septemenber 2001, the Handspring Visor Neo (Ace), a timely update to the Handspring Visor Deluxe, and the Handspring Visor Pro (Columbia), the 16MB PDA, was launched.
