Sådan lyder en melding omkring de nye 3.2GHz Pentium4 processore:
Whether you consider AMD Athlon XP 3200+ processor as the fastest CPU in the world for desktop computers or not, Intel will fight back on the 23rd of June with its Pentium 4 3.20GHz microprocessor.
Sources familiar with Intel?s plans said that the Santa Clara, California-based company will release its fastest Pentium 4 ?Northwood? CPU in June. Currently we think that the release will happen on the 23rd of June, 2003, however, if Intel reconsiders its plans, as we know, this happens quite often these days, the Pentium 4 3.20GHz will be released on the 16th of June. The company already supplies its 3.20GHz processors, so, the announcement is a very formal thing.
The Pentium 4 3.20GHz will be the fastest Pentium 4 ?Northwood? processor. It is manufactured using Intel?s 0.13 micron fabrication process, features 512KB of L2 cache, 800MHz Quad Pumped Bus and the Hyper-Threading technology. The CPU will feature D-1 core-stepping. It will cost $637 and will be Intel?s top offering for months.
