Det her er en noget af en sejr til AMD, supercomputer-fabrikanten Cray vil nemlig benytte AMD's Opteron processorer i deres omtalte Red Storm teknologi, som skal danne grundlaget for de fremtidige supercomputere fra Cray.
SUPERCOMPUTER firm Cray will today formally announce its Red Storm technology, which uses 64-bit Opteron processors.
Although Cray already has a contract with Sandia National Labs to make a Red Storm system, the Wall St Journal says the firm will say today it will sell similar technology to other customers.
