ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces Rampage V Edition 10

Press Release.

To celebrate the 10th year of ROG, a special edtion of the beast has been unleashed - ROG Rampage V Edition 10.

The Haswell-E platform and DDR4 on the Rampage V Extreme gave consumers support for memory capacities up to 128GB for the first time. The new Intel family of Broadwell-E X-series processors for the LGA-2011v3 socket again allows for that much memory with eight DIMMS and adds a bevy of improvements.

Intel's first 10-core desktop processor features Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0, up to 40 PCIe 3.0 lanes (great for the lucky ones who invested in more than two graphics cards in SLI/CrossFire, and upcoming DirectX 12 games can surely look to take advantage), and comes fully unlocked for overclocking fun. That's where Rampage V Edition 10 comes in; One-Click 5-Way Optimization, Fan Xpert 4 cooling plus Turbo Core app, Extreme Engine DIGI+ power, and second-gen T-Topology all come together to squeeze every single point-zero-something megahertz out. Every bit counts, that's why ROG is again breaking records, already three World Records and 14 Global First Places to be exact.

The new Rampage takes performance to another level but of course, it doesn't stop there. New Aura RGB lighting has been added, including on the PCIe slots and an extra 4-pin RGB-strip header to allow lighting effects to go beyond the motherboard itself. The new SafeSlot PCIe is reinforced to prevent graphics cards from sagging and/or breaking the slot.

High-end performance can be expected in every aspect of the board. SupremeFX Hi-FI DAC (Digital to Analog Converter), dual op-amps and headphone amp all controlled by Sonic Radar II audio software to make sure you can hear everything you need to hear in the highest quality possible. Dual Intel Gigabit LAN, 3x3 802.11ac Wi-Fi and GameFirst IV have you covered in terms of network speed and flexibility.

Having 40 PCIe 3.0 lanes will work wonders if you have the desire to load up every port and slot. We challange you to fill up the four PCIe X16 slots, a PCIe X4 slot, a PCIe X1 slot, NVMe U.2 port and M.2 slot, a whopping ten SATA ports, four USB 3.1 ports (two Type-A & two reversible Type-C), eight USB 3.0 ports and six USB 2.0 ports. For that you'd need a pretty darn big EATX case!

There isn't an I/O shield at the back anymore, it is now pre-mounted for easier motherboard installation and great aesthetics.

Rampage V Edition 10 also accelerates every transfer with extensive connectivity onboard, including U.2, M.2, USB 3.1, and 3x3 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

World-beating performance: Three new world records and 14 global first places achieved

Demonstrating its unrivaled performance, ROG Rampage V Edition 10 has set three world records (WR) and achieved 14 global first places (GFP) in a series of exacting 2D and 3D benchmarks. ROG’s new performance monster achieved the highest CPU frequency for an Intel Core i7-6950X processor, with a frequency of 5726.84MHz. Detailed benchmark scores for all categories are listed in the table below.

Best gaming and OC: 5-Way Optimization, Fan Xpert 4, Extreme Engine Digi+ and T-Topology

With 5-Way Optimization Rampage V Edition 10 sorts all the complex settings with a click, for instant, highly-controllable performance boosts. ROG’s exclusive technology dynamically optimizes essential aspects of the system based on real-time use, for superb CPU performance, everyday energy savings, ultra-stable digital power, cool and quiet fans and even networking and audio settings that are tailored for favorite apps.

With advanced fan and water-pump controls, Rampage V Edition 10 is also geared up to deliver the ultimate performance — all easily controlled by Fan Xpert 4. Via onboard thermal sensors and hardware-level 4-pin/3-pin PWM/DC mode detection, Fan Xpert 4 ensures every fan achieves the best balance of high cooling performance and low noise. Rampage V Edition 10 includes Extreme Engine Digi+, ROG’s revered digital-power controller. It comprises a custom-designed PWM controller, PowIRstage® IR3555 MOSFETs from Infineon, MicroFine alloy chokes, and 10K black-metallic capacitors to deliver the smoothest, most precise core voltages.

Second-generation ASUS T-Topology takes DDR4 memory overclocking to new heights. A customized trace layout reduces crosstalk and coupling noise to ensure time-aligned signal transfer for improved memory stability and compatibility.

Epic aesthetics and strength: Aura RGB and strip header, pre-mounted I/O shield and SafeSlot

Rampage V Edition 10 includes the amazing Aura lighting-control utility to manage the motherboard’s powerful built-in RGB LEDs and any attached RGB strips. The Aura software affords the creative freedom of nine different lighting schemes, and it enables the illumination effects to be synchronized with the ever-growing portfolio of Aura-capable gear.

With its built-in Aura RGB-strip header, Rampage V Edition 10 allows style-conscious enthusiasts to forget the hassle of external RGB controllers. To ensure the best compatibility, ROG has teamed up with well-known RGB strip-makers and case manufacturers, including CableMod, IN WIN, DEEPCOOL, NZXT, BitFenix, Phanteks — helping gamers to light up as easy as RGB wherever they see the Aura Ready logo.

Rampage V Edition 10 also has a stainless-steel I/O shield that slots in simply and adds strong protection. This pre-mounted IO shield is more than merely functional: our patent-pending invention ramps up Rampage V Edition 10’s aesthetic credentials, and makes PC DIY easier than ever.

And along with beauty comes strength, in the shape of SafeSlot — the PCIe® slot reinvented by ASUS and engineered to provide superior retention and shearing resistance. Manufactured in a single step using a new insert-molding process that integrates the slot with the fortifying metal for an inherently stronger slot, SafeSlot is then firmly anchored to the motherboard through additional solder points.

Ultimate audio, networking and visuals: SupremeFX Hi-Fi, dual Gigabit LAN and up to 4-Way SLI

Rampage V Edition 10 comes with SupremeFX Hi-Fi, a front-panel headphone amp that delivers sound exactly how the studio intended — pure, unadulterated audio delivered straight to the listener’s ears. The ESS® ES9018K2M digital-to-analog converter (DAC), dual Texas Instruments LM4562 op-amps and TPA6120A2 headphone amp work in harmony to faithfully reproduce every detail without distortion or jitter. The result is audiophile-grade 32-bit/386kHz and output of over 6VRMS to up to 600-ohm headphones.

SupremeFX Hi-Fi also has a Cirrus Logic analog-to-digital convertor (ADC) for exceptional recording quality. And, for more gaming victories, the stealthy Sonic Radar II overlay maps battlefield sounds to help players pinpoint opponents and teammates at a glance.

Rampage V Edition 10 features the very latest dual Intel Ethernet controllers (I219-V and I211-AT) for faster, smoother gaming. Intel's LAN has the serious double advantage of reducing CPU overhead and offering exceptionally high TCP and UDP throughput, so there’s more processing power available for games.

The new motherboard also allows gamers to unleash the full power of multiple graphics cards for visuals that never stutter, and with just the right amount of space between each card. Onboard switches enable DIYers to selectively enable or disable cards, while a handy SLI®/CrossfireX™ switch prompts Rampage V Edition 10’s integrated Aura integrated LEDs to guide the way when creating multi-GPU setups.

Extreme next-gen connectivity: 3x3 802.11ac Wi-Fi, NVMe U.2, M.2, SATA and USB 3.1
