VIA annoncerede i dag et nyt chipset, Apollo KT133A. Det nye chipset er pin-kompatibelt med forgængeren, Apollo KT133, hvilket gør overgangen fra det gamle til det nye meget smertefri for bundkort-producenterne. KT133A undersøtter, i modsætning til KT133, 133 MHz ( 266 MHz effektiv ) FSB samt den gængse 100 ( 200 ) MHz FSB. Derudover er der også support for PowerNow! teknologien, det betyder at vi snart vil se Mobile Duron processoren, som også vil understøtte denne teknologi, der vil gøre det muligt at ændre clockfrekvensen, for at spare på strøm til den bærbare computere.

The VIA Apollo KT133A is a two-chip set, consisting of the VT8363A North Bridge and a choice of VT82C686A and VT82C686B "Super" South Bridges. It comes with a full set of advanced features specifically designed to optimize the performance of the Socket A AMD Athlon? and AMD Duron? processors, including a 200/266MHz FSB, AGP4X, and support for high-speed PC133 SDRAM.
