with unique 4-layer Intel® 850 chipset Mainboard

MSI proudly announces its newest 4-layer mainboard based on Intel® 850 chipset, the MSI 850 Pro 2 - specifically designed for the dynamic Intel® Pentium® 4 processor. The cost effective MSI 850 Pro 2 mainboard conforms to the ATX form factor and is totally capable of delivering the high frequency and performance of the Pentium® 4 processors up to 1.7 GHz. The MSI 850 Pro 2 supports Rambus memory technology and an ICH2. Its new Socket 423 architecture is developed by Intel® to further enhance functions and features over and above those of the previous Socket 370 architecture.
Furthermore, this MSI mainboard is based on Intel?s QDR (Quad Data Rate) technology. The data transfer rate between the chipset and the processor can reach as high as 3.2GB/sec, avoiding data congestion in the processor, and accelerating the data communication between subsystems. The chipset and the memory bus apply Dual Channel technology, increasing data transfer rate to 3.2GB/sec as well, boosting the data processing speed!
With 4 RIMM memory slots supporting up to 2GB system memory, five PCI, one CNR, and one 4X AGP slots, the MSI 850 Pro 2 offers complete expandability which satisfies the demands of high performance computer users. In addition to its excellent performance and stability, the MSI 850 Pro 2 also offers the following features:
· USB PC2PC Connection
With Windows® 98/2000/Me and Mac OS and several different operating system environments that currently exist, MSI-USB PC2PC Connection can let the user easily conduct system installation by just using one USB Cable on a MSI mainboard. This feature facilitates data transfers from PC to Notebook, data back up and convenient online access making Peripheral Sharing, Net Meeting, Ethernet Emulation, Home Networking and Mobile Computing with two computers extremely easy. For sharing resources between two systems, only one system needs to be equipped with an MSI mainboard with this unique PC2PC feature.
· Supports Ultra ATA 100 and RAID
The Ultra ATA100 with RAID Bus Master interface provides an excellent and faster connection for IDE devices.

This useful software detects the system temperature, the status of the voltage, fans and all other key parts and components onboard. If any problem occurs, it will alert the user to correct the problem, reducing the risk of system damage.
· STR (Suspend to RAM)
With STR function, the system configuration data is saved onto the system memory when set to the suspend mode. The system memory is sustained with minimum electrical power to avoid data loss. When the system is reset to full operational mode, the original configuration status is restored in just a few seconds.
