Breaking Through 3GHz Barrier

Taipei, Taiwan, Oct 7th 2002 -- GIGABYTE technology, the world acclaimed motherboard manufacturer simultaneously announces GA-8PE667 Ultra motherboard today, while Intel launches their latest developed Intel® 845PE chipset. Incorporating revolutionary technology such as supporting Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 3.06GHz or beyond with HT Technology, full range of DDR memory support, RAID (0,1) + ATA133, USB 2.0, too many to be mentioned, the GA-8PE667 Ultra delivers not only the highest performance but also the most stable platform over Intel® Pentium® 4 solution.

GIGABYTE technology has once again proven its technology leadership among competition by unveiling the GA-8PE667 Ultra, the latest motherboard in the market that is designed to break through the 3GHz barrier and pre-design to meet Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor future coming specification. With the complete range of DDR memory support enhances the overall system performance to meet the future heavy application tasks.

In addition, it belongs to GIGABYTE new product family line named P4 Titan 667 series. In this renown product series, each GIGABYTE new Pentium 4 product is strictly designed, tested and validated by the reputed GIGABYTE engineering. The P4 Titan 667 series had been well recognized by the media world wide for its superiority product quality and performance.

With Promise 20276 controller chip, GA-8PE667 Ultra provides not only RAID 0(Data Striping) or RAID 1(Data Mirroring) function, through GIGABYTE outstanding Smart-Bios? technology, GA-8PE667 Ultra provides additional two UDMA ATA-133/100 connectors, allowing users to connect ATAPI devices such as CD-ROM, CD/RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM. Providing an extra option for high-density storage devices for wide usage.
USB 2.0 is currently the most populating peripheral connectivity, providing the data transfer rate up to 480Mbps, which is 40 times faster than the previous USB 1.1. With a WHQL certified NEC USB 2.0 controller chip, certified for Microsoft® Windows ensuring its performance and compatibility. Coupling with 6 USB 2.0 ports provided by Intel® ICH4 and 4 ports by the onboard NEC controller, the total of 10 USB 2.0 ports provides a wide range of peripherals connectivity for the USB current devices.
With an array of advanced technology, the GA-8PE667 Ultra provides a revolutionary experience. Realtek 6-channel CODEC brings incredible sound quality, with S/P-DIF out function enables users to experience realistic environment while gaming and movie watching. Onboard Intel® Pro/100 network connection provides a seamless connectivity to the broadband era. Another fantastic convenience is Memory Stick, Secure Digital and Smart Card Reader function support, by optional reader, GA-8PE667 Ultra takes all advantages from her superior reliability, flexibility for future upgrade and data protection capability while processing high speed data transfer.
GA-8PE667 Ultra provides several new innovation features such as Anti-Burn? design in which providing a protection to the motherboard from damaging if an AGP 2x (3.3V) card is inserted or the memory module is not properly installed. When an AGP 2x (3.3V) card is installed the AGP_LED will light up, indicating a non-supported graphics card is inserted. Informing users that system might not boot up normally due to AGP 2x (3.3V) is not supported by the chipset.
