The sky is the limit - With MSI 848P Neo LS mainboard
MSI, the leading motherboard manufacturer in Taiwan announces its ultimate performing solution for the mainstream Pentium 4 platform and next generation Intel processors (Prescott): MSI 848P Neo-LS. Proving its strength the MSI motherboard was over clocked up to FSB1400 (350MHz). Install a ratio-unlocked Pentium 4 (ratio=8x) and DDR400 Memory (CAS=2); you?ll see the sky is the only limit with MSI technology. By extensive validation of over 67 DDR400+ memory modules, MSI concluded the best parameters for DRAM voltage, Vio and other BIOS settings. After more massive tests at the MSI lab, all users can download the BIOS to support DDR533 memory soon.
MSI is the first to announce the exclusive OC Menu with the MSI 848P Neo LS to support DDR400+ memory modules. You can select DDR433, DDR450, DDR466 and DDR500 from DRAM frequency in the BIOS setting. Or you can just click on the OC Menu panel at CoreCenter. OC Menu will adjust necessary parameters of voltage and frequency simultaneously.
The only limitation for overclocking is the FSB margin of the processor.
The high-end models of FSB 800MHz family, 3.2 and 3GHz CPU can be overclocked less on FSB frequency. On the other side, 2.4~2.8GHz can boost system performance to another outstanding level.
Unique features on MSI 848P Neo LS are:
· MSI D.O.T. (Dynamic Overclocking Technology) and M.A.T. (Memory Accerlation Technology). MSI D.O.T. is achieved by hardware circuit. Some other similar technology is done by software simulation that actually decreases System performance due to extra utilization of the CPU.
· MSI CoreCenter - contains the OC Menu panel: users can determine their processor and memory type to optimize its memory capacity. The all-in-one hardware console is an advanced combination of the popular MSI PC Alert and MSI Fuzzy Logic. It includes hardware monitor, system alert and an instinctive user interface (UI) for over clocking.
· MSI OC Menu - this feature can exploit ultimate performance of DDR400+ memory.
· MSI Live Update 3 - it has integrated MSI?s Live OSD, Live BIOS, Live Driver, Live VGA BIOS, Live VGA Driver and Live Utility into one single utility for automatic BIOS and Driver updates. Advanced users may set the time for automatic BIOS, Driver and MSI Utility updates and receive the latest information about MSI products and activities to enjoy support from MSI.
For expansion the MSI 848P Neo-LS (ATX form factor) has 2 DIMM slots supporting up to 2.0GB DDR400 SDRAM (single channel), 5 PCI, 1 AGP 8X slot and 8 USB2.0 ports, onboard 10/100 LAN, and Serial ATA. MSI 848P Neo-LS is equipped with integrated 5.1 Channel audio for home entertainment.
