The focus of our article was to look at how you would benefit by upgrading to an Asus Radeon 9800XT from a previous generation card on the ATI and NVIDIA side. In Halo we found that you would get a visual experience increase by being able to use Pixel Shader 2.0 which allows for better graphics effects. You would also be able to run with 8XAF enabled providing better texture quality. In Max Payne 2 you will get the benefit of also being able to run at higher resolutions with a high level of AA and AF. The Asus Radeon 9800XT will also render environment mapping on all objects whereas the GF4 Ti 4600 did not have this feature. Tomb Raider: AOD is much like Halo in that you can run with all the visual effects Pixel Shader 2.0 provide and run at higher AA and AF settings.
