4-vejs Opteron bundkort fra Tyan

De seneste par dage har der gået rygter om et Tyan bundkort til 4 Opteron 8xx processorer fra AMD, og nu er de første billeder så på nettet. Der er tale om Tyan Thunder K8-S4880, som udover support for 4 Opteron processorer, kan klare op til 20 GB PC2700 registrerede DDR-SDRAM. Og resten af listen af features er lang...

The feature-list of the Thunder K8-S4880 includes 2 PCI-X (64-bit/66MHz) slots, 2 PCI-X (64-bit/133MHz) slots, 1 PCI (32-bit/33MHz), on-board ATI Rage XL 8 MB graphics adapter, 2-channel Parallel ATA-33/66/100/133, 4 Serial ATA-150 ports with RAID support, 2-channel Ultra320 SCSI controller, dual Gigabit Ethernet controller as well as other necessary ports in addition to server management capabilities. The mainboard is built according to Extended ATX standards.

Currently there are less than three platforms for 4-way AMD Opteron processors. In case TYAN launches its new Thunder K8-S4880 mainboard soon enough, it will be positive for AMD, who will have more chances to sell its AMD Opteron processors 800 series designed to work in 4-/8-way systems.
