Bliver nok en næsten ligeså stor succes som 9700 Pro. De har fået plads til lidt ny teknologi, og har selvfølgelig sat GPU og ram hastigheden op, så den kan konkurrere med GF FX.

"Continuing with Radeon 9700 Pro success, ATi has recently launched their Radeon 9800 Pro codenamed R350 VPU and as the name implies, it has derivatives from Radeon 9700 Pro. There are several new architecture enhancements like SMARTSHADER 2.1, SMOOTHVISION 2.1 and HYPER Z III+ that we will go through in more details later. Radeon 9800 Pro is clocked substantially higher at 380Mhz core and 340Mhz memory too and its highly touted 8 pixel pipelines with 1 texture unit per pipe. Radeon 9800 Pro has an effective 680Mhz memory clock speed on 256-bit DDR-I memory interface which gives an whopping 21.8GB/s of memory bandwidth."
