Danish Kiesa joins Minardi F1 Team On Sunday the third of August the Danish driver Nicolas Kiesa made his debut in Formula 1 on the Hockenheimring, where he finished in twelfth position. Both the Minardi F1 Team and the main sponsor Trust International are extremely satisfied with this promising result. Dordrecht (The Netherlands), August 2003 ? The Danish racer, Nicolas Kiesa, has joined the Minardi F1 Team. Alongside the Dutch driver Jos Verstappen he will be racing in the Minardi PS03 car until the end of the season. Before Kiesa made his successful debut at the Hokkenheimring, he tested the PS03 at the Ferrari?s Fiorano test track where he familiarised himself with the new Formula 1 car. Sunday the 3rd of August was an unforgettable day for him because he made his dream come true: driving in a Formula 1 race amongst the best drivers in the world, where he now too belongs. He finished this race successfully and came in twelfth. The next race for Kiesa will be in Hungary on the 24th of August.
Nicolas Kiesa (25), has born in the Danish capital Copenhagen.
1990? Kiesa started his racing career in a kart. He was a leading player in the European and World level karting for almost eight years. In this period he won many karting championships, including three national and two Scandinavian event titles.
1998- He changed to single-seaters, joined the ADR Motorsport team and started racing in the British Formula Ford Championship where he finished the season ranked in third position. He also finished the Formula Ford Festival World final in third place.
1999? Kiesa joined the Haywood Racing team, where he clinched the title of the British Formula Ford Championship before the end of the season, winning seven of the 14 races. In the Formula Ford Festival World final he became fourth.
2000- Kiesa joined the RC Motorsport in the British and German Formula 3 Championship.
2002- After two successful years Kiesa stepped up to the FIA Formula 3000 Championship with PSM Racingline, where he had point scoring finishes at Spa and Monza.
2003- He started racing for the Den Bla Avis team. He won the Monaco Grand Prix support race at the end of May and was lying fifth in the Championship standings after the Silverstone round. In July 2003 Kiesa signed his contract with Minardi F1 Team and joined the Formula 1 championship.
