Innovation/Technology - 5
Polaris 10 is the latest technology from AMD. With 14 nm production technology, the performance has increased, the power consumption decreased and 4 GB of RAM is plenty for 1080p gaming. 

Bundle/Accessories - 3
The bundle is average and includes only the most necessary things for installation. That said MSI deserves props for the large amount of software included with their graphics cards. 

Design/Layout - 5
As always the Twin Frozr VI cooler is incredibly efficient. Superb performance in complete silence is what MSI has achieved, not even overclocking seemed to push the cooler. Noting else than 5 points is good enough here. 

Software/BIOS - 5
The card and drivers has been completely stable throughout the whole test. If you would like to overclock, MSI includes Afterburner and their Gaming APP which controls the lights, fans and basic clockspeed. 

Performance - 4
As mentioned the RX 470 is alone in its price category. Nvidia’s GTX 960 is much slower and the GTX 1060 competes with AMD’s RX 480 in price. So the closest competition sits one price point above, like the 4 GB version of the RX 480. We are close to 5 points in price to performance here, but close competition from the bigger cards keeps it at 4.  

Price - 4
If you want possibly the best RX 470, the Danish price is 1879,- DKK. This puts the MSI card close to the bigger RX 480 although without the excellent Twin Frozr cooler. The alternative is a reference RX 470, those will set you back 1600,- DKK if you don’t need a quiet cooler. 
All this puts the Gaming X right in the middle, it offers good performance with one of the best coolers on the market.
