Test: Corsair Twin2X2048-6400 Pro

Konklusion & UK Summary

Endnu en DDR2 test er nået til vejs ende og jeg vil indlede med at sige, at det har været en fornøjelse igen at arbejde med RAM moduler fra Corsairs Pro serie.



På trods af den høje hastighed, som disse RAM moduler bliver leveret med, så er de i stand til at give væsentligt mere. Ikke noget jeg tidligere har oplevet med Corsairs Pro serie. Det faktum samt det, at de stadig efter min mening er noget nær det fedeste RAM modul, man kan sætte i sin maskine, gør til dem til undertegnedes absolutte favorit lige nu.

Innovation/Teknologi:
Der er som sådan ikke noget nyskabende eller innovativt over disse RAM. Det er efterhånden 3, 4 eller 5 generation af Pro serien og Corsair er ikke de eneste, der leverer DDR2-800 RAM, så her må de "nøjes" med et 3 tal.

Design/Layout:
De fleste har nok opdaget, at undertegnede er temmelig vild med designet af disse RAM moduler. Bevares, det er da en smagssag med blinkende dioder i den grå kasse under bordet, men er man til lidt lir og fede farver, så findes er ikke noget alternativ. Et 5 tal her.

Ydelse:
I modsætning til tidligere testede udgaver af Corsairs Pro serie, så leverer Twin2X2048-6400 Pro ikke blot varen. De leverer også gerne 20 % mere. Det er imponerende, når vi bevæger os i de hastigheder og derfor et 4 tal her.

Prisen:
Prisen er straks værre. De koster kassen og det er ikke alle forundt at have næsten 3000.- på hånden til to RAM moduler. En pris som ligger ca. en plovmand over konkurrenternes bud på samme type og hastighed. Jeg er tilbøjelig til blot at give et 2 tal her, men da man for den ekstra plovmand får både mere ydelse og ikke mindst lir, så lander vi på et 3 tal her.

UK Summary

Yet another DDR2 test has come to its end and I would like to preface by saying that it have been a pressure to work with these RAM modules from the Corsair Pro series again.

In spite of the high speed that these RAM modules are specified of they are able to give a lot more. This is not something I have experienced earlier talking about the Corsair Pro series. This fact plus that I think it is one of the coolest types of RAM modules you can put into your computer, makes them favorites to the present writer.

Innovation / Technology
There is as such nothing innovative of these RAM modules. It is by now 3rd, 4th or 5th generation of the Pro series and Corsair isn't the only one to produce DDR2-800 RAM modules, so they must be "satisfied" with a score of 3.

Design / Layout
Most of you might have discovered that the present writer is totally crazy with the design of these RAM modules.
By all means it is a matter of taste if you like blinking LED's in the grey cabinet beneath your desk, but if you are up for a little bling bling and some cool colors there is no other existing alternative. A score of 5 is given.

Performance
In contrast of earlier tested products in Corsairs Pro series these Twin2x2048-6400 Pro modules deliver not only the stock speeds. They also like to give 20 percent more. This is impressing when we talk about these speeds and therefore I give a score of 4.

Price
The price is a little twisty. They are very expensive and not everybody can effort to pay nearly 3000 DKR for two RAM modules. The price is about 500 DKR above similar products with the same speeds on the marked. I am inclined to give a score of 2, but the fact that you get more performance and bling bling for the 500 DKR extra results in a score of 3.
