If you get skipping, you can try lowering your texture detail if it's cranked all the way up. If that doesn't help, possibley defrag your hard drive.
On second thought, before lowering the texture detail, lower your sound quality. This has fixed the skipping problem for a lot of people without a noticable loss in sound quality. The loss of texture detail will be much more noticable.
Excellent! Lowering the sound quality from High to Medium basically solved the stuttering issue for me.
My hitching was fixed by turning off my gpu's oc'ing.
I was skipping a bunch even when I'd have around 80fps solid inside. I just turned my rate up to 25000 from 10000 and the skipping went away. <-- ved ikke hvad han snakker om, anyone?
