Hej.
Jeg har dette board som beskrevet i nedenstående tråd (Asus PC-DL), og de har modded BIOS'en fra en P4C800 og lagt den over i et Asus PC-DL med kun 133/533, vil det sige at hvis jeg BIOS-flasher min Asus PC-DL som er en 533, så bliver der åbnet så den bliver en 200/800 istedet, med Nocona.
Hvis jeg flasher min BIOS med denne modded BIOS, hvad vil mine Xeon 2.8 så være, de kører jo std. 133*21, åbner den så som 200*21, eller.!! :e

Det vil da give mig en masse fordele hvis jeg får åbnet for 200/800, jeg kan sætte nogle hurtigere ram i, og alm DDR.
Alle de timings, vcore settings fra P4C800 vil bliver optionals.
Jeg ville kunne clocke mine Xeon 2.8@3.36 meget mere, mine temps er kun 44°C ved max. load. ( Anbefalet 75°C )

#1: Nocona er kodenavnet for 800 FSB Xeons. 533 FSB Xeons hedder Prestonia.

Når du skriver at du ville kunne clocke dine Xeons meget mere med sådan en bios, er det så fordi du ikke kan gå op på 200FSB i den nuværende bios, med dine Prestonia Xeons? Jeg kender ikke bios'en på det board, men det har jo 875-chipsettet, og det understøtter jo 200FSB :l ?:(

Hvis det lykkedes for dig vil dine Xeons IKKE køre FSB200/800, men stadigvæk 133/533 da det jo er det de er født med. Du kan jo så prøve at OC'e dem, og se om du kan nå de 200FSB, men det tror jeg ikke du skal satse på da 200*21=4200MHz!

Det de gør med denne BIOS, er at tilføje det bedste fra nyere Tyan BIOS'er, fra P4C800, og alle andre nye features fra de BIOS'er, kan jo kun bliver en forbedring.

#5 Det er da et forsøg værd, jeg har en lav temp, og de Xeon's kan gå op til 80°C, og uden problemer, jeg har kun 44°C ved max load.
Jeg er ved at læse hele den tråd, og når jeg har fundet den endeligt BIOS, vil jeg da forsøge at clocke dem mere, pt. kører de 2.8@3.36 og ved de 44°C ved max.

#6: Er Xeons låste? Hvis ikke, kan du jo prøve at ændre multiplier ned, og regulere FSB op - og så se hvad max FSB er...

#8 > Jeg ved det som sagt ikke, jeg hævede blot FSB med et interval på 5, testede om den var stabil, hævede 5 mere, og sådan blev jeg ved til FSB'en stod på 160, så stoppede jeg, og uden grund.
Jeg rørt ikke ved vcoren, elller timingen, andet end satte ram til fast 333.

Originally I intended to modify the PC-DL BIOS to include the features for overclocking that were present in the NCCH-DL BIOS however I was starting from scratch as I had no information on the two BIOS images so I performed allot of analysis work disassembling both BIOS images to see how they worked etc.
After P4NW did some testing on the early version of the modified BIOS images (PC-DL images based on 1008) I was able to determine the PC-DL BIOS image would require extensive recoding of the System BIOS rom - as the two boards are almost the same I made the assumption that the NCCH-DL System BIOS rom file could be used in the PC-DL BIOS image however this had its own problems such as file checksum errors.
To make things easier I decided to use the NCCH-DL BIOS image as the basis for the mod (after I disassembled the BIOS image I found it to be similar in structure to the PC-DL BIOS - *as a note the NCCH-DL System BIOS is a much more updated version than the one present in the PC-DL*). Also at the same time I decided to add support of Nocona's to the PC-DL BIOS as an initial mod to see if it was possible for people to use the newer Xeon's on the PC-DL. I was unable to extract the CPU Micro Code from the NCCH-DL BIOS image so I ripped it out of the iWill DH800 BIOS image.
I modified the NCCH-DL image by replacing the PCI drivers so that the image could support the onbaord RAID chips present on the PC-DL and this worked to the extent that the PC-DL is able to boot with this image (albeit it thinks its an NCCH-DL board ), all the I/O ports work 100%, onbaord sound works, system is able to boot into Windows XP and Windows XP recognises the new BIOS image (starts to reinstall the various system drivers) however the PCI ports do not seem to work or partially work *I believe a reinstall of Windows XP might resolve this*.
I have modified the image again but this time I made corrections to the structure as I believe some of the PCI drivers were corrupt which is why not all the features were working (IDE RAID did not work however SATA did). Until this image is tested I cannot be 100% certain but I am hopeful this modified NCCH-DL will work with PC-DL boards and the PCI issue may just be a Windows XP thing (PCI not being mapped correctly) as Windows XP recognised my SoundBlaster Audigy Soundcard however the sound being played back was as series of broken beeps indicating a PCI mapping issue somewhere. Another possibility could be the NCCH-DL BIOS is expecting a 6300 southbridge chip where as the the PC-DL uses the 82801ER southbridge chip - this might not be so easy to remedy as the code for this could possibly embedded in the System BIOS rom of the NCCH-DL BIOS image.
Finally, I also want to try modifying an Ami BIOS image like the DH800 to work with the PC-DL board. To do this I will need to find a base Ami BIOS image that already has support for the 875P Canterwood northbridge and the 82801ER (ICH5R) southbridge chip, onboard sound doesn't matter, we are interested more in getting the onboard RAID working and more importantly the PCI slots.
Okay here are the current modified images:

Xeon's (Prestonia) er ikke låst, vedkommende i denne tråd kører 23*165 = <b>3795</b> på luft, ram sat til 266 1:1.
Og dette med 2 stk. 3.06/533, mine er 2.8/533, så der burde være det samme poitentioale i mine.!

Hvor ved du fra at de ikke er låst??? Hvis de ikke var låst ville han vel sænke den multiplier og hæve fsb???

Most importantly for you to consider about this bios, is you can now mod you 3.06GHZ chips, for 800FSB operation.. Insulate AB3, and then Bridge AA2-AA3.. Remove all the jumper caps, and post @ 166FSB, by holding insert.. Go into the bios, and set the multiplier to 18.. Now save and exit, holding the Insert key as soon as the screen goes black.. When the board post, hit the power button once to turn off the machine.. Now set the jumpers to the "by default" position... Turn the power on, and you will see 3.6GHZ DDR400..
If there is one thing FZ has done for the world, he has made it easier to run @ 800FSB with 20 plus multipliers..

but if your already a PC-DL owner, this means, you can go out and buy Nocona's, and load Windows 64Bit!! Thanks to FZ!! And it will be faster than a DH800 with Nocona's!! LOL!! The memory bandwith is awsome.. Its around 6400MB's.. No other board is that high right now..
