lidt om volt på et 7800GT/GTX
Voltage via BIOS on GeForce 7800 series... - 2005/11/28 12:18
Well since I received a lot of emails on how the voltage can be increased above the 1.4V standard on the GeForce 7800 GT and GTX cards, I just wanted to share something that I have now received from someone who tried the below and gotten 1.5V on the his GeForce 7800 GT. The method how this was done is rather strange... Before you try this, be aware of the risks as we are figuring out now what is happening exactly and will come back on this...
So just to give you how it works, and was done using NiBiTor... An extract from what I received. Those who say that raising vcore on the GeForce 7800 GT not is possible without hardmod are wrong. I haven't tried on GTX, but I think it will work on them also...
Open your BIOS with NiBiTor and then change Device to the GeForce 6800 series. Save the BIOS then open it up again. Now you can use the Extended Voltage Table. After changing to 1.5V, change Device back to GeForce 7800 GT. And once again save the BIOS. Flash your card and measure if you don't believe me.
Now I wouldn't have posted this, but I actually have now already more then 2 visitors of MVKTech who have done this and did measure the voltage on their GeForce 7800 GT... So only for those who really can't wait and want to take a chance/risk. And if you have done so let us know the outcome.
