I just wanted to share this as this could be something that would be interesting in getting a GeForce 7900 GT performing up to the GTX level. Currently with the limited BIOS\\\'s I have received it seems that the GeForce 7900 GTX is set to 1.4V on the 3D and the GeForce 7900 GT is set at only 1.2V. This would certainly explain why a GTX is running at 650MHz and a GT only at 450MHz. So we will look into this and see if via a BIOS change we would enable 1.3V or 1.4V on the GeForce 7900 GT...
Nooo..
I suppose, that change voltage on a GeForce 7900 GT via BIOS is impossible. Voltage is controlled by programable PWM controller with voltage indentification inputs (ISL6563 or similar). I searched for the GeForce 7900 GT voltage area on PCB and VID pins of controller are hardwired except one (only one fixed voltage).
Yeah!!
Could be... But we can onlybe sure after we have some more GeForce 7900 GT and GTX BIOS\\\'s cause I think smomething might be possible on some boards somehow via a BIOS update. http://www.mvktech.net/compone...
Kort sagt, måske kan biosen på GT-kort moddes til at køre 1,3/1,4v. Man skal dog også tage i mende at dette stresser boardet og dets komponenter. Vi må vente og se hvad der sker..
