Thank you to everyone who has paid their respects to Boyd in these past days. Your prayers and continuing support mean the world to his family, friends, and employees as well. As of right now I can tell you that Jo has every intention of continuing to carry on the legacy of Boyd Coddington at the hot rod shop (with the current family of employees). The best way for you to stay tuned to the latest at the shop is to check out www.boydcoddington.com . At the time being, please be patient with the website. Due to an overwhelming amount of traffic there have been some problems with it in the past couple days.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B... Coddington had been hospitalized in January 2008, shortly after New Year's Eve.[6] He was discharged, but was readmitted just a few days later to Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in suburban Whittier, California.
After being readmitted, doctors performed surgery and Boyd was expected to make a complete recovery. Unfortunately, Coddington died on February 27, 2008. His publicist, Brad Fanshaw, stated that Coddington was a long-time diabetic who died from complications that were brought on from a recent surgery along with liver and kidney complications.[7]
After the initial announcement of Boyd's death, many auto blogs refused to confirm the death of Boyd due to an incident in 2004, when Boyd's death was reported, and assumed true by many web publications, after Boyd had choked on a spaghetti dinner while using the restroom. Initial reports of Boyd's death had been hasty, as while Boyd had lost consciousness, was revived by his wife after she had rushed into the bathroom after hearing him fall off of the toilet.[8]
