1UP.com har et interview oppe, hvor Mirror's Edge's tilblivelseshistorie oprulles. Det er interessant læsning, fordi spillet sprænger rammerne for, hvad vi normalt forstår ved et first-preson shooter spil.
Konceptet er så banedrydende, at den ledende animator, da han første gang fik forelagt ideen, tørt konstaterde at ideen ikke kunne realiseres. Men, som vi alle ved i dag, så lykkes det alligevel holdet bag ME at realisere ideen om et first-person parkour spil - inden for rammerne af en FPS model.
