"I'm trying to help a guy setup his email client on his new Android tablet. The problem is that he has forgotten his gmail password after having had automatic login on his old Android Phone for a long time.

We cannot recover the password via gmail because the provider of his recovery account has gone out of business.

I haven't tried using the security question for recovery yet, since we have to wait 24 hours until we can try that (we were locked out because of all the passwords we tried); but I highly suspect that it won't help us, since he doesn't even remember ever setting up a security question. Even if he did, I doubt he will be able to remember the answer.

So my question is: Is there a way to transfer the cookie (with the automatic login password) from his old phone to his tablet? I have no clue if a cookie or something similar is actually used for that. I know next to nothing about the Android operating system."
