Hej,
sorry if I write in english men jeg kan kun tale lidt dansk.
I don't know if I'm posting in the right kategori, so please move the thread if it's not 🙂
I need to find a copper shim (I think it's kobberplade på dansk), 15mmx15mmx0.6/0.7mm: I swapped a dead nvidia 8600m gs from my acer 5920g laptop with an ati hd3650 but after less than a minute (even in the bios) the screen goes black (with some strange effects too). I think it's because the thermal paste I applied is not enough for the gpu to reach the heatsink. But I really don't know where I could find a store here in Copenhagen that could sell me some copper. I've tried on dba but there's only one here selling, but it's too thick (I've asked him info anyway... I'm asking everywhere 😕 ). Tomorrow I'll try at silvan since it's open but any help would be much appreciated.

try eventually and find an old motherboard, maybe you could use a piece from the northbridge cooler. ellers find den nærmest smedværksted, se om de skulle have en lille stykke til overs.

If the heat generation is less than that of a 8800GT or the likes, you should be able to get away with just useing excessive thermal paste, or useing ram/mostef thermal pads like these :
Coolerkit has them as 0,5mm and 1mm thickness (items 09XX003 and 09XX002), though i would call in the order as the webshop postage is alwas package-postage (60/62.- DKR)
Besides this, you can find alot of spare part from some old motherboards, including thermal pads 🙂
