USB camera and Synology NAS?

From what ive been reading, the Synology NAS doesnt support USB cameras - howcome?

A good IP camera is 3000 DKK, where as a good webcam for USB is merely 500 DKK. So howcome this isnt supported? Would be a nice addition to the Surveillance Station.

Hi, This could be something we do in the future but for now we do only support IP cameras. Please see our website for a list of compatible cameras!

Well, since you can do USB over ethernet, it would be quite nice if USB cameras were supported.

Hi,

I will pass this suggestion on to our technical developers in Taiwan and let's hope this is something we can support later on. Keep an eye out for Synology news though. I will start to announce things on this forum throughout the year.
