I am afraid to say that it doesn't support the '07 models. The earliest series it does is '08.

The NAS hotspot feature seems great. Can it work as a supplement to the existing wireless lan?

The new feature in DSM4.0 is the DiskStation can be a wireless AP (hostspot). If you connect an USB wireless dongle to the DS, you don't need a wireless router. Your laptop can connect to DS via wireless.

#6 I'm thinking a wireless router in one end of the house, a cable from the router to the NAS in the other end of the house - where the wireless signal is not good, and my laptop (or phone) will connect to the NAS instead of the normal wireless, and still beeing able to surt the internet?

HI,

Our software only works with Synology NAS so you will need a Synology NAS to use it!
