Fejl på WD Green

Har en wd gren som crystal disk info melder fejl på. Er ved at tømme den for data hvorefter jeg vil prøve en lowformat, går ud fra at det er det der menes når man vælger Write zeros med western digitals Winlog. Men hvis der stadig er fejl på den bagefter så er det vel en RMA sag?

Disken er markeret med gul Advarsel og melder fejl på C5 og C6. Men hvad går fejlen egentlig ud på?

Har kørt en WRITE ZEROS som endelig er færdig efter en del timer.

Fejl c5 er væk

Prøver nu med en extended test. Uanset så kommmer jeg nok ikke til at stole på disken. Men er det muligt at sende den til RMA med den fejl?

Umiddelbart er 1 bad sector blok ikke nok til en RMA, men hør da forhandleren hvordan de forholder sig 🙂

Nudagens diske har opmod 1024 ubrugte spare sectors, så det er realt ikke et problem sålænge der ikke er et stigende antal dårlige sectors løbende, som kunne type på en defekt.

Det har du nok ret i. Men da jeg ville bruge disken til backup er det mig ret vigtigt at starte med en disk der er ok. Findes der ikke programmer til at belaste disken med en masse skriv/læse opgaver, på alle diskens sectors, så jeg kan fremskynde evt, fejl på disken?

Jeg har en 2Tb WD Green liggende der hjemme.

Ingen fejl på drevet, what so ever, bortset fra man max kan overføre med 5mb/s, hvis alle 2tb er brugt op, så tag det ret lang tid. Som sagt ingen fejl, men det var dråben fra min side. Holder mig langt væk fra WD drev hvis jeg kan. Råder ikke green til backup hvis det skal være WD.

Jeg bruger HDDScan (kan hentes via HDDGuru) til at tvinge reallokation igang 🙂

En Write + Verify plejer at klare det for de fleste diske.

Hvis du bare vil tæve disken, så er extended SMART tests faktisk bedre, da den belaster mere "normalt" end blot at skrive til samtlige blokke på disken.

Evt brug en kombo af extended SMART tests og verify runs, write er mest til at tvinge ting igang via diskens SMART logic 🙂
