USB device not recognized

I use a Windows 10 computer. Today, when I was trying to connect a new Penn drive to a USB port, I encountered a "USB device not recognized" error. I was confused because I did not receive this error message. How can I fix this problem? Anyone has a guide or some other strategy to solve this problem.
