AMD annoncerede i dag sit samarbejde med Valve, frugten af dette samarbejde bliver at i fremtiden vil steam automatisk opdatere din ATI Catalyst grafikdriver via staem. det kræver dog at steam brugere registrerer sig, først der vil steam installere de nyeste ATI Catalyst driver til deres ATI Radeon grafikkort direkte fra Steam. Valve's seneste Steam Hardware report viser dog også, at hele 87 procent af DirectX ® 11 brugere benytter ATI Radeon eller ATI Mobility Radeon hardware.
"Steam represents an evolution for PC and online gaming, and the availability of ATI Catalyst graphics driver updates directly on the Steam platform can help further enhance the PC gaming experience for users of ATI Radeon products," said Ben Bar-Haim, corporate vice president of software for AMD. "AMD Gaming Evolved and Valve share the belief that 'Gamers Come First' - we now have the opportunity to work together to help ensure the best possible experience for PC gamers."

Denne meddelelse er endnu et eksempel på AMD's Gaming Evolved initiativ i aktion.
