Sony's debut of an 8-million pixel resolution camera has come as a surprise for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it usually markets its sensor technology to other OEMs before launching its latest sensor in a camera of its own. This time, Sony has released its latest sensor chip in its own camera before selling it to other companies.
