Konklusion
Ydelse - 4

hereUK summary
With this harmonic put together router, TRENDnet has shown, that it is possible to make a low cost 802.11n router with gigabit switch, which is extremely fast and has most features needed in a private home. For a digital home with several computers connected to the wireless network, I would say that Gigabit is a must. It hardly costs anything to get 10 times the performance.
The router is dual band, so it supports any thinkable wireless standard in the alphabet, and also all new thinkable encryption types.
In comparison to the SiteCom router, which was used in the test as a reference, I did miss a few adjustment possibilities in regards to QoS. Most gamers would like to avoid their ping going up 10-100 times normal, because someone else on the network is downloading or uploading a large mail or something like that. It might be because of the price choice TRENDnet has made, by using the RT2880 chip, but for a "top-router" I would have liked to see more in that department.
Innovation/Technology - 4
A well made router with one of the fastest wireless networks in its price range deserves a 4.
Bundle/Accessories - 4
There was the bundle expected, but despite the very short manual, everything relevant is still mentioned short and precise. Even a quick encryption setup was in it, with screenshots of the webinterface....in 7 languages.
Design/Layout - 4
The design is quite nice, discreet and stylish - it is not a router I would be ashamed to have out in the open on my desk, which must be a plus.
Software - 5
The webinterface is easy to use and contains most setup features, a "normal" user would ever need. The help in the webinterface definately pulls up the score aswell.
Performance - 4
With a really fast wireless interface and a gigabit switch, you can not go wrong with a router from TRENDnet, but the test did show that the wireless part can be aquired a bit faster, so a score of 4 here. Besides the fact that you lost a bit of topspeed with encryption, did drag down the score aswell.
Price - 5
The price of the router is set at DKK 699,- and therefore makes it the one of the cheapest in its class, if you want a gigabit switch to go with it.
