Biostar X58 T-Power Overclocking

I was so lucky in getting to try biostar X58 board. Put everything together and started installing OS. Started on air, as I knew this I7 965 could bench 3800 MHz on an earlier Gigabyte board . I thought I'd start there. Started to get frustrated as I could only get around 3600 MHz. Hmm, I thought. This cant be, so I started from scratch. To my surprise, putting all volts on standard, and tuning slowly upwards, I managed to get this 965 up to 4200 MHz. So, first lesson learnt. Slow on the volts. Heres a few pictures from the bios. More detailed specs on the board can be found here  http://hwt.dk/literaturedetails.aspx?TeaserID=9497

What i found intresting in the bios, was that memory timings can be set individually. Nice feature there Biostar.
The most tweaking is done in the O:N:E section, here you can adjust all voltages and tweak ram timmings. Talking about voltages, this
board has plenty values to choose from, so no restrictions there.
After installing all the bench programs and a few tweaks, it was time to put on my vapo (single stage compressor).

In addition, here is the setup with single stage, set and ready. Isolation here is a big factor. Don't want any condens around the mb or cpu.

Booted straight off 4200 MHz. Last settings in bios. Testing stability here, before we go further. I was informed this cpu was not the best oc, as its one of the very first batches.
It seems to be doing ok so far. If I can get to bench 4400-4600, that would be great.

Software used to benchmark is:

3Dmark 03
3Dmark 05
3Dmark 06
Cpu-z
Wprime
Super PI

Started out with superpi , managed to get a stable 32m with all cores and Hyper Threading enabled at 4495mhz, which gave 9m41.063s

Wprime did quite well too, placed quite well on hbot.

3Dmark 03 Single and cfx scores

05 single and cfx

3Dmark 06  and cfx

Cpu-Z

Conclusion

I enjoyed using this board, installing raid and windows was painless. T-Power and its bios features are just what an overclocker would wish for. The price for the board is mid-range, and quality feels good. The newer bios they have, solved the ram issue they had earlier, so one can set uncore frequency higher, which automatically sets the ram to higher multiplier. Making one get as much out of the ram as possible.
