Intel Xeon på 80Watt

På Inguerer kan amn nu læse at Intels 65 nanomenter Woodcrest der ankommer i trejde kvartal i år, kun bruger 80 Watt.
Det viser igen at der er mere fokus på at få varmen væk, og hele vejen rundt vil det sikkert hedde "GHz per Watt".




"Woodcrest chips which Intel is looking to for an element of server salvation will consume 80W except for the low voltage version which halves that wattage.

We know this because we saw a week 15 Intel roadmap provided to its original equipment manufacturers, but the chip firm has not yet decided on clock speeds for its 4/4 Cloverton, when that launches late this year or early next year.

The 65 nanometre Woodcrests line up in the following configurations which we hastily scribbled down on the back of a fag packet. The Woodcrests come to life in Q3."
