Ryzen 7 1700X: The balance of power has shifted

The launch of AMD's brand new Ryzen 7 CPUs in March has brought competition back to the desktop CPU market. Featuring 8 cores and 16 threads, Ryzen 7 is AMD's latest high-end CPU engineered for gamers, content creators and professional users.

Attached is a chart showcasing Ryzen 7 1700X performance compared to Intel's i7-7700K in popular PC usage scenarios including: 4K AAA-gaming, game streaming, content creation, and video encoding.

Highlighted statistics:

  • Compared to the Ryzen 7 1700X, the Core i7-7700K achieved 67% the video encoding performance in Handbrake and 82% the performance in Adobe Premiere CC
  • In simultaneous game streaming via OBS, the Ryzen 7 1700X dropped less than 1% of frames, while the Core i7-7700K dropped 18% of frames
  • Compared to the Ryzen 7 1700X, the Core i7-7700K achieved 65% the performance in POVRay, 69% the performance in Blender, and 63% the performance in Cinebench, for an average content creation performance of 66% relative to the Ryzen 7 1700X

From brainstorms to breakthroughs and visionaries to victories, the incredibly powerful AMD Ryzen processor empowers you to game, design and create without boundaries.
