Konklusion

Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition skulle kæmpe mod GTX 680 prismæssigt, men den taber allerede i få tests mod GTX670 og det er ikke den bedste start når man kigger på price/performance.

Innovation/Teknologi - 5
7970 GHz Edition er den nye version af AMDs 7970 og som det fremgår af navnet så er standard clock hastigheden på over 1GHz, nærmere sagt 1050MHz. Dette gjorde tydeligvis nogle forskelle i tests og AMD har været nødsaget til at udgive denne version for at hamle op med NVIDIA.

Der fulgte ingen kasse med til kortet, derfor N/A.

Design/Layout - 4
Kortet bruger AMDs standard reference køler som medgiver høje temperaturer end custom kølere. Kortet har også 1x 8-pin og 1x 6-pin hvor imod NVIDIAs GTX670 kun kræver 2x 6-pins til strøm.

Software - 3
Kortet benytter AMD's standard drivere, som fungerer ganske fortrinligt og derfor modtager 3 point. MSI Afterburner virker også til dette kort, hvis du vil lave din egen fan profil eller overclocke det.

Ydelse - 4
Rigtig god ydelse fra AMD af, den hamler op med GTX670 og vinder i de fleste tests, men taber også et par få.

Pris - 4
Kortet har endnu ikke en pris i europa, dog ved vi at den vil koste 499$ i USA og at den skal kunne konkurrere mod GTX680. Dog taber den i nogle tests til GTX670 og får derfor 4 points.

UK Summary

Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition is supposed to battle against the GTX680 price wise, but it does loose in some test aginst the GTX670 and that doesn't help the cause when looking at it price/performance wise.

7970 GHz Edition is the new revision of AMDs top-card 7970 and as told by the name the card is clocked over 1GHz, to be precise 1050MHz. This made a major difference in tests and AMD was forced to release this version to battle against NVIDIA.

Bundle/Accessories - N/A
There was no box included with our test card, therefore N/A.

Design/Layout - 4
The card uses AMDs standard reference cooler, however that does come with a downside of having higher temperatures than an aftermarket cooler. The card also uses 1x 8-pin and 1x 6-pin where the GTX670 only needs 2x 6-pin in power connectors.

Software - 3
The card uses AMD's standard drivers which work quite excellently and therefore receives 3 points. I also tested the card with MSI Afterburner which works flawlessly if you want to make a custom fan profile or overclock it.

Performance - 4
Really good performance from AMD, it manages to fight with the GTX670 and wins in most of the tests but it does loose in some aswell.

Price - 4
The card has yet to reviece a price in europe with but we know that the card will cost 499$ in the US and will compete with the NVIDIA GTX680. However, the card does loose in some tests against the NVIDIA GTX670 and therefore it will only recieve 4 points in price.
