Test: MSI GTX 960 Gaming 2G grafikkort

Konklusion

Med deres Twin Frozr køler, har MSI endnu engang lavet et ultrastille grafikkort rettet mod gameren. GTX 960 chippen leverer fornuftig ydelse, med et lavt strømforbrug og derfor minimal støj. Har du ikke behovet eller budgettet for det større GTX 970, kan 960 chippen fint trække alle spil på markedet derudover koster det godt 1000,-kr mindre. I samme prisklasse har AMD deres 280x, der tilbyder godt 15% højere ydelse, desværre kan de ikke matche NVIDIA chippens lave strømforbrug og støjniveau. Som forbruger skal du derfor vælge hvilket kort, der matcher dine krav bedst. 
 

Innovation/Teknologi - 5
NVIDIA's nye chip leverer god ydelse parret med et lavt strømforbrug. Muligheden for at slå blæserne helt fra i idle, er et bevis på hvor effektive de nye chips er.

Bundle/Tilbehør - 4
Tilbehør til grafikkort har de seneste år har været tyndt, specielt i gamerklassen som vi kigger på nu. MSI gør det lige en smule bedre end gennemsnittet og derfor lander vi på en lille 4’er. 

Design/Layout - 5
Twin Frozr V køleren er som altid utrolig effektiv. Superb ydelse i fuldstændig stilhed er hvad MSI har formået, og intet andet end 5 point kan gives her. 

Software/BIOS - 5
Kortet samt drivere leverede stabil ydelse hele vejen igennem testen. Blæserne standser automatisk i idle hvilket er en super feature. Vil du overclocke vedlægger MSI deres Afterburner og et lille program, til at styre lyset på siden af kortet.

Ydelse - 3
Sammenligner man med konkurrerende grafikkort fra AMD, kan GTX 960 chippen ikke helt følge med målt på ydelse. Noget kan dog hentes med overclock, vi lander på 3 points. 

Pris - 3
MSI kortet koster 1750,- DKK altså er det noget billigere end ved lanceringen, jeg har derfor valgt at give et ekstra point.

UK summary

With their Twin Frozr cooler, MSI has once again created an ultra quiet graphics card aimed at gamers. The GTX 960 chip delivers reasonable performance with low power consumption and therefore minimal noise. If you don't have need or budget for the larger GTX 970, the 960 chip is good and will run all games on the market. In the same price range, AMD has their 280x, offering 15% higher performance, unfortunately they can't match the NVIDIA chip's low power consumption and noise level. As a consumer, you will have to choose which card matches your requirements the most.
 

Innovation/Technology - 5
NVIDIA's new chip delivers good performance paired with low power consumption. The ability to turn the fans off in idle, is a testament to the efficiency of the new chips.

Bundle/Accessories - 4
Accessories for video cards in recent years have been somewhat thin, especially in the gamer class we are looking at now. MSI is just a bit better than average and therefore we land on 4 points.

Design/Layout - 5
The Twin Frozr cooler V is as always very effective. Superb performance in complete silence is what MSI has managed here. 

Software/BIOS - 5
The card and drivers delivered stable performance throughout the test. The fans will stop automatically in idle which is a superb feature. If you want to overclock, MSI include their Afterburner software and a small app to control the lightning and other features.

Performance - 3
Compared to the competing chip from AMD, the GTX 960 chip can't quite keep up in terms of performance. Some of the missing power can be fixed by overclocking, but we still end up at 3 points.

Price - 3
The general price of GTX 960 cards has dropped since launch. That is really good for consumers and the lower price means an extra point from us.
