Konklusion
UK Summary
After I have listend to Empire R1500 in different scenarios, I must say that they play convincing. Their strong side clearly seems to be at the gaming front. But they can still play as a small stereo at a kids room.
The bass is a bit to small in very demanding passages, but at most situations it will do just fine. The subwoofer has a good size. It plays so one can hear it - without taking up a lot of space.
The sattelites has a good size. The cast solid foot looks god at the unit, and it stands rock solid. The five units is at first sigth identical, so I can not determine which is which without taking a peek at the back. And you can´t hear any difference. But it was a nice detail that each jack had it´s own color and that they were marked at the back.
They play well and matches the 5" bass very well.
I therefore grade as follows:
Innovation: 3
5.1 Speakers for your PC isen´t excactly a new thing. But each satelitte is marked and there is ekstra wire for those to play in the back.
Bundle: 2
A manual and 2 x 3 cables is only just excactly what you need. I can therefore not give any higher than 2.
Design: 3
The black and silver design is almost standard these days. But they can go the distance. It draws down in overall grade that the mastervolume is placed on the subwoofer, and so is the powerbutton. But I suppose there is no way around that.
Performance: 4
They play well. A lot of details and afterall a very good bass. You are able to play it to it´s knees - but you will newer play that loud in everyday life.
Test: Empire R1500
