Contents of the box

This time I think you should get a picture of the box BFG used to ship the PhysX card.
You really start wondering when you receive a box weighing less than most main boards bundles, but large enough for me to hide in ;P
When you open it starts making a bit more sense - I wonder if BFG fears the big, bad postal workers?

The main package is somewhat strange - but on the other hand, the contents are also out of the ordinary.

When you get it opened there isn't much inside: the PhysX card, one Molex power adapter and a little cardboard box.

The cardboard box doesn't contain much either: 1 driver CD, 1 installation guide and 1 CD with AGEIAT PhysX demos.

For the test we have also received a BFG 7600GT, which we of course have used in the test system.

All in all there is not much in the box. You could say that it might be difficult to bundle anything, as hardly any PhysX supporting games have been released yet, and development tools aren't very interesting for most end users. But on the other hand we have seen graphics card bundles with coupons for games like Half-Life 2 and Doom III.
So seen in that light I think it would be quite fair to bundle a coupon for a game which could make use of the PhysX card.

However, BFG should be praised for their life time warranty, a clear plus in my book.

  • 12 GB/s bandwidth.

  • Peak instruction bandwidth :
  • 20 billion instructions per second.

  • Collisions:
  • Max. 530 million Sphere-Sphere pr. second.

  • Max. 533.000 Convex-Convex (Complex) pr. second.

  • Supported technologies:
  • AGEIAT PhysX SDK:

  • - Stable high-performance solver.

    - First and only multiprocessing physics API.

    - PC and console support (Xbox 360® and Playstation® 3).

    - Works alongside and is compatible with other game engines.

    - Supports vehicle, rag dolls and character controllers.

    - Integrates with any renderer.

    - Full complement of code samples and tutorials.

    - Free, world-class developer support and custom solutions.

  • AGEIAT Universal Continuous Collision Detection:

  • - Enables entire environments to be interactive and destructible, with a massive scale of collisions and response between fast-moving objects.

  • AGEIAT Physical Smart Particle Technology:

  • - Empowers tens of thousands of realistic particle calculations of volume, density, and pressure for pervasive fluids, smoke, rain, and debris. It goes beyond simple graphical particle systems of today's GPUs, which are unable to interact with dynamic objects.

  • AGEIAT Complex Object Physics System:

  • - Drives physics processing beyond a few primitive shapes and simple effects to more accurate and realistic representations of physical objects and interactions. Sophisticated interactions between objects of different types including: Rigid Bodies (simple, compound and jointed), cloth.

  • AGEIAT Scalable Terrain Fidelity:

  • - Delivers physical landscape accuracy and genuine surface reactions for true environmental experiences.

  • AGEIAT Dynamic Gaming Framework:

  • - Flexible AGEIA PhysX accelerator architecture provides an upgrade path to tomorrow's powerful feature and performance enhancements via software.

  • High-speed GDDR3 Memory Interface:

  • - Support for GDDR3 memory delivers smoother game play via on-board acceleration of dynamic physics geometry and simulation objects.

  • Massively Parallel Physics Architecture:

  • - The highly tuned multi-core processor is optimized for dynamic, large-scale physics processing. It accelerates real-time physical motion and interaction at a scale and quality far beyond what's possible with just a CPU or typical PC graphics processors.

Nånå.. er det meningen at HWT både skal have engelske og danske artikler ? :)

syntes godt nok ikke det er vildt imponerende.

men lad os nu se på ca ½ år når de får det optimeret og spillene er lavet til det.
