Test: Razer Ornata CHROMA keyboard

Konklusion:

Razer Ornata Chroma, det mekaniske membrantastatur. Er faktisk et vellykket produkt, som er super lækkert. Både når man taler om funktioner i forbindelse med den medfølgende Synapse software, og når man taler om udseende og brugbarhed.

Tastaturet fylder ikke overdrevet meget, det har et standard layout, og det fede Chroma baggrundslys. Alt i alt en super lækker pakke med tilhørende håndledsstøtte, som gør at man passer lidt bedre på sine led i længden.

Det eneste jeg mangler for, at dette tastatur skulle være komplet og en decideret topscorer på mit skrivebord, skulle være dedikerede multimediataster. Jeg bruger min computer til meget andet end at spille med, så jeg har brug for lidt flere funktioner end den normale gamer har. Det er dog tilgængeligt under Fn funktioner, men det er bare lidt for besværligt efter min mening.

Innovation/Teknologi - 4
Jeg synes det er en sjov funktion Razer har fundet på, at kombinere det mekaniske feel med den billigere og bedre beskyttede membran kontakt. Det giver en lækker fornemmelse når man skriver på det, og man har lyden og følelsen af det mekaniske. Det er ikke så hårdt at skrive på, som et mekanisk tastatur, da det jo har den bløde membran bund som man trykker imod. Alt sammen kun positivt.

Bundle/Tilbehør - 4
Der følger en håndledsstøtte med tastaturet, hvilket er et kæmpe plus i min verden. Man skal passe på sig selv og sine led, og det hjælper en støtte til. Hvis den ikke følger med et tastatur, får man sjældent købt den ved siden af. Så det er kun godt den følger med.

Software - 5
Razer Synapse er et godt gennemtestet produkt, som kan bruges til samtlige Razer produkter. Så man har alle sine produkter samlet i en software pakke. Det giver klart det bedste overblik over sin software, og der er kun et program der skal opdateres. Alt i alt en god ting.

Design/Layout - 3
Jeg savner virkelig nogle dedikerede multimedia taster, hvor jeg hurtigt kan skrue op og ned for lyden samt pause musikken, eller springe videre til næste nummer. Det med at man skal bruge en tastekombination fungerer bare ikke for mig i længden.

Ydelse - 4
Tastaturet yder som det skal. Jeg har spillet og skrevet artikler med det, og ikke oplevet nogle fejlanslag eller noget. Det giver en god feeling, at man har både taktil og lyd feedback på sine tastninger.

Personligt synes jeg dog, at det larmer lige i overkanten, og jeg kan ikke forstille mig, at man kan bruge den slags på et fælles kontor. Jeg blev selv lidt træt i hovedet af det efter længere tids redigering af artikler, hvorimod gaming med headset er den perfekte kombination.

Pris - 3
Med en pris på omkring 820 DKK for dette tastatur, synes jeg måske også det er betalt. I bund og grund får man jo 'bare' et fancy membran tastatur. Ikke nok med det, så betaler man små 150 DKK for Chroma funktionen, da et standard Ornata tastatur med grønt lys kan erhverves for omkring 670 DKK. Det er en ret stor procentdel efter min mening.

Razer Ornata Chroma, the mechanical membrane keyboard. Is actually a successful product, which is super delicious. Both when talking about functions in connection with the supplied Synapse software, and when you talk about appearance and usability.
The keyboard does not take up exaggerated space, it has a standard layout, and the cool thing Chroma backlight. All in all a super gorgeous package with matching wrist support which makes you protect you handwrist in the long run.
The only thing I'm missing is before this keyboard would be complete and an outright top scorer on my desktop, should be dedicated multimedia keys. I use my computer to much else than to play with, so I need a little more features than the normal gamer has. However, it is available with the Fn key, but it's just a little too difficult in my opinion.

Innovation/Technology - 4
I think it's a fun feature Razer has found that combining the mechanical feel with the cheaper and better protected membrane contact. It makes a delicious sensation when you write on it, and it has the sound and feel of the mechanical. It is not so hard to write on, as a mechanical keyboard, as it has the soft membrane bottom as you press against it. All just positive.

Bundle/Accessories - 4
There´s included a handwrist with the keyboard, which is a huge plus in my world. We have to be careful about one self and your wrists, and it helps support. If it does not come with a keyboard, you rarely go to buy. So it is only good it´s included. 

Software - 5
Razer Synapse is a well proven product that can be used for all Razer products. Then you have all your products bundled in one software package. It gives by far the best overview of its software, and there is only a program that need to be updated. All in all a good thing.

Design/Layout - 3
I really miss some dedicated multimedia keys, where I quickly can turn up and down the volume as well as pause the music, or skip forward to the next number. The thing about that you have to use a key combination, simply does not work for me in the long run.

Performance - 4
The keyboard performs as it should. I've played and written articles with it, and not experienced any faulty keystrokes or something. It gives a good feeling that we have both tactile and audio feedback when using it.

Personally I think, however, that it make noise right in the over the edge, and I can't imagine that one can use the kind on a common Office. I was even a little tired in the head of it after a long period of editing articles, whereas gaming with a headset is the perfect combination.

Price - 3
With a price of around 820 DKK for this keyboard, I think perhaps it´s paid for. Basically you get the ' just ' a fancy membrane keyboard. Not only that, then you pay small 150 DKK for Chroma function as a default Ornata keyboard with the green light can be acquired for around 670 DKK. It is a fairly large percentage in my opinion.
