Test: Asus Prime X399-A

Konklusion

Også dette bundkort var en fornøjelse at have kørende i test perioden. Alt fungerede perfekt og resultaterne havde jeg forventet ville ligge en smule under ROG bundkortene og det var da også tilfældet i 3DMark. I nogle af de andre tests var det dog fuldt ud på højde med de øvrige testede X399 bundkort. Så vil man lave sig et godt ydende X399 build til rimelige penge på bundkortssiden og med ikke for meget RGB LED gøgl så er dette bundkort lige sagen.
 

Innovation/Teknologi -  5
Det kan være svært ikke at komme til at gentage sig selv når man tester bundkort fra samme producent og samme serie. Alligevel skal det understreges at AMD med X399 chipsættet og Threadripper CPU'erne er kommet med helt frem i skoene indenfor HEDT maskiner. Det er skønt at se at man nu kan få både mange M.2 SSD'er og samtidig masser af SATA 6 Gb/s til storage på grund af de mange (64) Lanes som X399 og Threadripper kan håndtere.

Bundle/Tilbehør - 3
Med i kassen til dette bundkort finder man kun lige det mest nødvendige for at kunne montere en ekstra M.2 SSD og en SLI / Crossfire bro så man kan få monteret 2 grafikkort. Men dette tilbehør og diverse ledninger, er for så vidt også nok til at få bundkortet i luften og mere forlanger jeg ikke til dette PRIME bundkort.

Design/Layout - 4
Designet med de skrå hvide striber på bundkort og køleprofiler ser ganske udmærket ud, men det bliver op til den enkelte at afgøre om det falder i med den personlige smag.

Software/BIOS - 3
BIOS'en er naturligvis lige så let at betjene og navigere i som på f.eks. ROG bundkortene, dog med her en gennemgående blå farve på billederne. Den medfølgende software er god og velfungerende, men der er ikke det samme Gaming software med som til ROG bundkortene.

Ydelse - 4
Ydelsen er ganske udmærket og i de tests jeg har udført kommer ASUS PRIME flere steder op på eller over scoren for f.eks. ASUS ROG bundkortene.

Pris - 4
Prisen på ca. 2300 kr. må siges at være i den absolut betalige ende af skalaen og det er ca. 500 kr. billigere end det billigste ROG bundkort til Threadripper CPU'erne.

UK summary

Even this motherboard was a pleasure to have running during the test period. Everything worked perfectly and the results I expected would be slightly below the ROG motherboards, and that was the case in 3DMark. However, in some of the other tests it was fully in line with the other tested X399 motherboards. So you want to make a good-performing X399 build for affordable money on the motherboard side and where there is not too much RGB LED noise, this motherboard is just the case.
 

Innovation/Technology - 5
It can be difficult not to repeat itself when testing motherboards from the same manufacturer and the same series. Nevertheless, it should be emphasized that the AMD with the X399 chipset and the Threadripper CPUs have been fully featured in the shoes of HEDT machines. It's nice to see that you can now get both M.2 SSDs and lots of SATA 6Gb/s for storage because of the many (64) Lanes that X399 and Threadripper can handle.

Bundle/Accessories - 3
In the box with this motherboard you will find just the most necessary to mount an extra M.2 SSD and a SLI / Crossfire bridge so you can have two video cards installed. But this accessory and miscellaneous wiring is also enough to get the motherboard in the air and more I do not require for this PRIME motherboard.

Design/Layout - 4
Designed with the slanted white stripes on motherboards and cooling profiles looks quite good, but it will be up to the individual to decide if it falls with the personal taste.

Software/BIOS - 3
Of course, the BIOS is as easy to operate and navigate as, etc. the ROG motherboards, but with a continuous blue color on the pictures. The included software is good and well-functioning, but there is not the same Gaming software as with the ROG motherboards.

Performance - 4
The performance is quite good and in the tests I've done, ASUS PRIME comes up to or above the score for etc. the ASUS ROG motherboards.

Price - 4
The price of approx. 2300 DKK is a great price and it is approx. 500 DKK cheaper than the cheapest ROG motherboard for the Threadripper CPUs.
