Test: Asus ROG Strix X299-E

Konklusion

ASUS har lavet et solidt spillebundkort her, men jeg vil ikke mene at bundkortet egner sig til ekstrem overclocking, men henvender sig mere som et bundkort der skal sidde i et kabinet med masser af RGB og et flot og gennemgående ROG design.

Vi får de nyeste teknologier på den nyeste platform og med noget af det vigtigste; masser af RGB.

Bundle/Tilbehør - 5
Pakken er fyldt totalt op og kan næsten ikke pakkes ned igen, hvilket er helt fantastisk. Der er alt hvad man kunne tænke sig og lidt mere til.

Design/Layout - 5
Selve designet er meget diskret, sikkert for at sætte fokus på RGB og ROG logoet. Layoutet kan jeg også rigtig godt lide, vi mangler bare at få 90 graders vinkel på alle stik og port på højre side af bundkortet.

Software/BIOS - 5
Som altid fra ASUS ser vi en fantastisk software pakke og BIOS.

Ydelse - 4
Ved standard hastighed leverer ASUS en solid ydelse samtidig med at det holder sig til Intel's standarder for turbo og strømforbrug. Når dette bliver slået fra og CPU'en bliver overclocket viser ASUS også at kunne leverer på ydelsen.

Pris - 3
ASUS ved bestemt godt hvad de vil have for deres bundkort. En pris på 2500kr. synes jeg er lidt højt hvis vi kigger hos konkurrenten ASRock, hvor det bundkort der er sammenlignet med koster i nærheden af 1800kr.

UK summary

Asus has created a solid gaming motherboard, but I would not think that motherboard is suitable for extreme overclocking, but is intended more as a motherboard that has to sit in a cabinet with lots of RGB and an attractive and consistent ROG design. 
 

Innovation/Technology - 5
We get the latest technologies on the newest platform and with one of the most important things; lots of RGB.

Bundle/Accessories - 5
The package is completely filled up and can hardly be packed down again, which is quite amazing. There is everything you could imagine and then some.

Design/Layout - 5
The actual design is very discreet, probably to put focus on RGB and ROG logo. I also really like the layout, we are just missing the 90 degree angle on all connectors and port on the right side of the motherboard.

Software/BIOS - 5
As always we see a amazing software bundle and BIOS from Asus. 

Performance - 4
By default, ASUS delivers a solid performance speed while sticking to Intel's standards for turbo and power consumption. When this is turned off and the CPU being overclocked ASUS also shows to be able to deliver also on performance.

Price - 3
ASUS defiantely know what they want for their motherboards. A price on 2500 DKK I think is a bit high, if we look at the competitor from ASRock, where the motherboard there is compared with costs around 1800 DKK.
