Introduction

As the first in the world, HWT.dk has exclusively been allowed to test Patriots new performance SSD by the name of Warp v3. The SSD has a capacity of no less than 256 GB, which is the largest SSD available.

If the possibility of replacing your system drive with this SSD due to its large size isn't enough, the performance is also at the top of the class. Patriot promises up to 240 MB/s, which is only 10 MB/s lower than the maximum speed attainable through a SATA-connection, and based on those facts, the price isn't as crazy as one might think - more on that later. First a short introduction to Patriot:

Patriot has existed since 1985 and exclusively produces RAM, flash-modules and SSD's from their own factories located in Fremont, California USA. Patriot has its own sales-offices in the U.S. and Asis, but they're also selling through distribution channels to North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Besides that, Patriot is a proud member of JEDEC, and as their homepage says; "You can feel confident that your Patriot modules are of the highest quality available" - which is to be taken literally, since all of their RAM-products come with a lifetime warranty. The SSD in this test will have to make do with only a standard 2 year warranty.

Everything you don't know about SSD is on the next page.

Spændende test. Hvordan er Patriot's stømforbrug sammelignet med de to HDD'S?
