Konklusion
Mangler blæser i bagpladen
Innovation/Teknologi - 4
Monterings venligheden i kabinettet - 4
UK summary
For a long time Silverstone has been among some of the best to provide good quality chassis, but this one disappoints me greatly... The feet falls of, before you even get the chassis out of the box, two off them actually did fall off during the test. When the rest of the chassis is made from good materials, I wonder why Silverstone has used such poor plastic mounting for the feet. Furthermore the rubber mounting for the HDD is also of poor quality, and will fall off, after only using the HDD mounting one time. If one ignores the above, then Silverstone have delivered a good and solid aluminum chassis, with a neat little design. They have had some good thoughts about, how to make room for as much as possible without making the chassis too big. It is impressive that you can squeeze two 10.5" GFX cards in, and a big PSU like the Corsair HX1000 into this small chassis. If you build the computer in the correct order, there is a lot of room for working with the hardware. The air flow is also good if you care to fit the cross flow fan in the rear of the chassis. The chassis is easy to transport, thanks to the handle in the top of the chassis.
The price for such a chassis is around 950,- DKK, and you can get other brands for around 600,- DKK, but they will not have as good a design as this one. Silverstone have always been a little more expensive than other brands, but then you could also be sure, that it was a quality chassis you had bought. Quality is not the correct word for this model, as the feet falls off, I think Silverstone should remake the mounting of the feet and HDD, and then they would get a great product in the end.
Summary
Plus:
Good design
Lots of space
Aluminium components are of good quality with a nice finish
Minus:
The plastic is of poor quality
Feet fall off easily
Rubber mountings for HDD are of poor quality
Fan in the Rear of chassis is not included
Innovation/Technology - 4
There is nothing new in this chassis that is not provided by other manufacturers, but at least they are not missing anything that does not make it a good chassis. Silverstone have tried to make it as easy as possible to mount the various componets in the chassis, by making it possible to remove individual plates from the chassis, to get easy access this way. However, lacking a removable motherboard tray, eSATA, and IEEE 1394 connectors, means that I will not give it the 5 points.
Bundle/Accessories - 3
The package which it comes in, is of very good quality, and can take a lot of beating by the postal service, otherwise it comes only with the most necessary parts, so that you are able to assemble your computer in the chassis.
Design/Layout - 3
I think it is a nice design. The handle is made nicely, and Silverstone have done a great job making is look like a part of the chassis. Silverstone have also done their best to make it as easy as possible to assemble your computer inside the chassis by making it possible to remove some of the plates. The Air flow can be really good, if you retrofit the cross flow fan in the rear of the chassis. The quality of the aluminum parts are as good as they can be, the one place where this product fails completely, is the plastic mounting for the feet and rubber mounting for the HDD as they simply fall off.
Mounting friendliness in the chassis - 4
Silverstone have done their best to make it easy to mount your hardware in the chassis, and there is room for two 10.5" GFX and a large PSU, in the size of a Corsair HX1000, which is impressive in such a small chassis. However, you must remember, that there is not enough room for a big CPU cooler in this chassis.
Performance - (1) 4
Personally, I would say this chassis is a total fail, the feet and rubber mounting for the HDD falls off, I would not buy this cabinet.
But if one ignores that fact, I would give it a 4, you can easily bolt the feet back on to the chassis. If you buy some bolts for the feets, then Silverstone have delivered a nice looking small chassis, where you both can see and feel that this is some good stuff you have just bought and with easy mounting of your hardware inside the chassis, this would have been a great product, if it had been for the feet falling off.
Price - 3
The price of this chassis is a little dearer then the rest of the manufactures of matx chassis, with approx. price of 950,- DKK, if it had not been for the poor plastic feet and rubber mounting for the HDD, it would have been a good price, as the rest of the chassis is among one of the best I have seen.
