Konklusion
Hurtig, skræmmende stor og smådyr?
Innovation/Teknologi - 4

Fast, intimidating and expensive?
Innovation/Technology - 4
32 MB cache, S-ATA300 and 1 TB of storagespace devided into three platters. There are multiple ways of getting 1 TB og storage, also with only one disk. Samsung is/was unfortunately not the first one to break the 1.024 GB limit. None the less, the disk is very attractive. A clear 4 is given.
Design/Layout - 3
A harddisk drive, that looks like all the other harddrives. It has the connections expected (power and interface), and there is screw-holes for mounting it in the casing. A common 3 is given.
Performance - 5
Fast, faster, Samsung Spinpoint - This harddrive is only surpassed by RAID in a head-on contest. It's a bit behind, acces time wise, but that doesn't change the fact, that this harddrive is extremely fast. It's only beaten by the 10,000 rpms harddrives, in a database test. Which I would consider being an unfair comparison. When carrying that in mind, the Samsung harddrive is a clear winner, when we look at capacity/price ratio. A clear hi-5, for the (at the time) fastest stand-alone harddrive in the 7,200 rpms league.
Price - 4
The harddrive is currently priced at 1,930,- DDK. At this price, one gets: 1 TB of storage, 32 MB cache and the S-ATA300 interface. unfortunately, both; Western Digital, Hitachi and Seagate are selling harddrives, carrying about the same specs. And also have in mind, that the WD Caviar GP WD 10EACSWD is priced about 300,- DKK cheaper. But they are not, as far as I know, as fast as the Samsung. It has to be a question of preferences. Personally, I don't see why one should spent an additional 300,- DDK in a disk, that surpasses with only a "few MB/s". But I have to be honest. I don't know, if there is a huge difference in performance. I don't see why on should choose the Samsung, especially not, when we are talking about 300,- DKK. The other ones are only about 150-100,- DKK below (price-wise). I would reward it with a 4, if it wasn't because of all the other manufactureres having a 1 TB harddrive on the market. But, they do.
