Test: Asus P9X79

Konklusion

Kortet her er et genialt kort hvis man vil have en billig X79 platform. Det er nemlig det billigste du kan få fra Asus, og der er stadig mange godter med der gør at det er nemt at leve med, men en overclockers drøm bliver det nok aldrig.

Innovation/Teknologi - 4
Kortet er i princippet blot et neddroslet Sabertooth. Det har knap så mange funktioner, men formår stadig at levere en god ydelse og er meget nem at leve med.

Bundle/Tilbehør - 4
Der er lidt mere i pakken end gennemsnittet, dog havde jeg gerne set en smule mere, eventuelt en lang CrossFire bro.

Design/Layout - 4
Layout er ganske fint på kortet, og det giver mulighed for et mindre PCI-e x1 udvidelseskort som fx lydkort,  selvom at man har 3 grafikkort der fylder 2 PCI pladser.  Dog kræver det at man har 7 PCI pladser i sit kabinet, hvilket alle ATX kabinetter ikke har.

Software/BIOS - 4
BIOS er rigtig dejlig, Jeg kan rigtig godt lide det første billede man møder, hvor man får mange informationer omkring systemet, og den avanceret menu har rigtig mange muligheder for at ændre på systemet.

Ydelse - 5
Ydelse er der skam ikke mangel på. Jeg tror at det er fordi de sammenlignende kort har haft en BIOS af ældre dato, og har derfor ikke kunnet yde helt så godt.

Pris - 4
Sætter man kortet op imod de dyre drenge, så er det virkelig et godt kort til pengene. Men imod de knap så dyre kort, så er der lidt at vælge imellem, hvor jeg synes at AsRock er kommet Asus i forkøbet. Jeg giver 4 her da kortet stadig ligger i den billige ende, og er rigtig god til prisen.

UK summary

This board is pretty genious if you want a cheap X79 platform. It´s the cheapest you can get from Asus, and there is still some goodies inclueded that makes the board easy to live with - but a overclockers dream it will probably never become.

Innovation/Technology - 4
The board is pretty much just a handicapped Sabertooth. It dosen´t have many features, but it´s  still capable of good performance and it´s easy to live with.

Bundle/Accessories - 4
There is a bit more included than the average board, though I would like to see a bit more - for exsample a Crossfire bridge

Design/Layout - 4
The layout is quite ok, and it provides the oppourtunity for a smaller PCI-e x1 exspanding card like for exsample a soundcard, even though you have 3 videocards taking taking up 2 PCI slots. That demands that you have room for 7 PCI slots, which not many ATX cases have.

Software/BIOS - 4
The BIOS is very nice. I in particular like the first picture you meet, where you get many informations about the system, and the advanced menu provides many oppourtunities for changing the system.

Performance - 5
There´s no lack performance wise. I believe it´s because the comparing boards where equipped with a BIOS of older date and thereby they could not perform quite as well. 

Price - 4
If you compare the board against the big boys, it´s a really good board for the money. But against the mid-range boards, there´s much more to choose from and I believe that AsRock beat Asus on that front. I grade 4 here because the board is still in the cheap end, and is very good compared to the pricetag.
