Test: Mad Catz S.T.R.I.K.E 3 Gaming Tastatur

Konklusion

Da jeg fik pakket S.T.R.I.K.E.3 ud af kassen og så den knald røde farve, der var jeg solgt. Min indre drengerøv krævede næsten, at dette måtte jeg eje. Tastaturet er også dejligt simpelt i forhold til hvad vi har set på det sidste stykke tid, og det bruger ikke mere plads end et normalt kontor tastatur. Det har været et tastatur, som har klaret sig rigtig godt både i dagligdagen og i gaming. Det er faktisk kun den håndledsstøtte, der lige nager mig lidt. Alt i alt synes jeg det er et flot tastatur og et godt tastatur for personen som vil være lidt mere seriøs med sin gaming.

Innovation / Teknologi - 2
Der er ikke så meget nyt her, faktisk synes jeg har de taget et lille skridt i den forkerte retning med den håndledsstøtte. Jeg håber de laver en generation 2 og får lavet den støtte lidt bedre.

Bundle / Tilbehør - 4
Jeg synes de har lavet en rigtig god bundle i denne pakke. Tastaturet kan bruges lige ud af æsken, og de har sørget for en stor og tydelig quickguide som hjælper dig hurtigt i gang med tastaturets finesser. Og så har de sørget for at smide lidt klistermærker i til at smide på computeren eller døren; en lille ting, men det varmer hos mig.

Design / Layout - 4
Her har vi alle jo hver vores smag, men hvis drengerøven ikke kommer frem i en, når man ser dette tastatur IRL, ja så er der noget galt. Selv bossen kiggede en ekstra gang, og jeg så glimtet i øjet. Tastaturet kan fås i både sort, rød og hvid, så der burde være en farve til alle. Designet er dejligt simpelt og layoutet lavet så du kan lave makro´er til både højre og venstre hånd. Håndtaget gør det nemt og hurtigt at have tastaturet med på farten. 

Software - 5
Når man tager med, at det her er et "entry level" tastatur, så har de lavet softwaren sindssygt god og dejlig overskuelig. De har endda sørget for genveje til de mest brugte funktioner i ens arbejdsdag, hvad mere kan man forlange. Det er bare en software der fungerer og er nem at have med at gøre.

Ydelse - 4
Selve tastaturet fungerer rigtigt godt, og det er et super tastatur at både game og arbejde ved. Men den håndledsstøtte trækker altså en del ned, for jeg er typen der rykker lidt rundt på tastaturet i stedet for stolen, og så ryger den bare af hele tiden. Havde der ikke været den fejl, havde de fået et 5 tal herfra.

Pris - 4
Her har jeg også lidt blandede følelser, igen på grund af den håndledsstøtte, men også fordi du kan få andre tastaturer der kan mere i samme prisklasse. Men er mere nødvendigvis bedre? Det mener jeg ikke, og derfor har de fået 4 og havde fået 5, hvis den støtte var lavet ordentligt.

UK summary

When I got the S.T.R.I.K.E.3 out of the box and saw the ruby red color, my inner kid almost demanded that I went out to buy it. The keyboard is also quite simpel, compared to what I have been testing lately, and it´s no bigger than a normal office keyboard. It has done quite well, both in gaming and everyday use. The only fault I can think of is the hand rest. All in all I think it is a very good looking keyboard and a very good entry level keyboard.

Innovation / Technology - 2
Really not anything new in this keyboard. Actually, I think they have taken a step in the wrong direction with the handrest lock missing. I really hope they make a generation 2 and get that hand rest fixed.

Bundle / Accessories - 4
I think they have made a really good bundle. The keyboard can be used right out of the box and there are a big and easy to follow quick guide for setting up macros and lighting. They have also put in some stickers for putting on your computer or door, that always make me smile.

Design / Layout - 4
We all have different taste, but if your inner kid does not come out when you see this keyboard in real life, then there must be something wrong. Even the boss took an extra look and i saw the glimpse in his eyes. The keyboard comes in black, white and red, so there should be a color for any taste. The design is simple and the layout is made so that you can make macros for both your right and left hand. The handle in the top of the keyboard makes it easy to carry the keyboard with you.

Software - 5
When you think about this keyboard as an entry level keyboard, i really think they have made the software great and easy to use. Mad Catz have even made sure that you can setup the most used functions in the daily life as a macro via the software

Performance - 4
The keyboard functions really good, both in gaming and daily work. But that hand rest is a drawback, because i´m the kind of a guy that moves the keyboard instead of the chair, so it keeps coming of. Had they made it with a real lock as they usually do, I would have given them 5.

Price - 4
In this category I have a bit mixed feelings, again because of the hand rest, but also because you can get other keyboards with more functions and buttons in the same price level. But is more necessarily better? I don´t think so, and so I have given them 4 in this category. It would have been 5 if the hand rest was not loose.
